Overview

SLS-002 is an investigational intranasal formulation of racemic ketamine developed for the treatment of acute suicidal ideation and behavior (ASIB) in adults with major depressive disorder (MDD) and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Racemic ketamine is a mixture of two enantiomers, esketamine and arketamine. The drug acts as a noncompetitive antagonist at the N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptor, which is believed to contribute to its rapid antidepressant effects. SLS-002 has demonstrated early and persistent reductions in symptoms of depression and suicidality in clinical trials. It is being developed by Seelos Therapeutics[1][3][4][6].
