SLS-009 is a preclinical-stage therapeutic program developed by Seelos Therapeutics that utilizes proteolysis-targeting chimera (PROTAC) technology. It is designed to selectively degrade disease-causing proteins by harnessing the body's natural autophagy and lysosomal degradation pathways, rather than the more common ubiquitin-proteasome system. The program aims to clear mutant and misfolded protein aggregates associated with neurodegenerative conditions. Currently, SLS-009 is being evaluated in preclinical in vivo studies for the treatment of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), Alzheimer's disease, and Huntington's disease.
