Overview

SLV314 is a small molecule antipsychotic drug candidate developed by Solvay Pharmaceuticals. It was part of a research program aimed at identifying novel monoaminergic ligands with improved efficacy and side-effect profiles for the treatment of schizophrenia. SLV314 is characterized by its high affinity for dopamine D2 and D3 receptors, as well as serotonin 5-HT1A and 5-HT2A receptors. In comparative studies using principal component analysis of receptor binding data, SLV314 demonstrated a unique pharmacological profile distinct from traditional and atypical antipsychotics. Development of the compound appears to have been discontinued in the early stages of research in favor of other candidates within the same series, such as SLV313 (rauvizapine).
