"SM09" is a non-specific identifier used in various scientific contexts to refer to different substances. In one instance, "SM09" refers to a hydroxy-selenomethionine supplementation (0.9 mg kg-1 DM) investigated for its role in promoting in vitro rumen fermentation in dairy cows by altering the relative abundance of rumen microorganisms. In another context, "SM09" is identified as a potent small molecule inhibitor that targets the ESAT-6 protein of *Mycobacterium tuberculosis*, specifically by masking the Met93 residue, thereby disrupting the interaction between ESAT-6 and human β2-microglobulin (β2M). This inhibition leads to a significant reduction in the intracellular survival of *M. tuberculosis* in human macrophages. Additionally, "SM09" has been used to denote a boryl oxasmaragdyrin, an aromatic core-modified expanded porphyrin, which functions as an efficient hole-transporting material in high-performance perovskite solar cells. "SM09_AEA (dm)" is also mentioned as a molecular descriptor in quantitative structure-activity relationship (QSAR) studies for polycyclic aromatic compounds and dioxins.
