Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**SM3** is a murine IgG1 monoclonal antibody that recognizes the PDTRP core-peptide epitope within the tandem-repeat region of under-glycosylated tumor-associated mucin 1. It was developed as an investigational radioimmunoscintigraphy antibody: when labeled with technetium-99m, indium-111, or iodine-123, it preferentially accumulated in MUC1-expressing adenocarcinomas and was evaluated for preoperative imaging of ovarian cancer, breast cancer, and associated lymph-node disease. SM3 itself is the unlabeled antibody; isotope-labeled SM3 preparations are radiopharmaceutical diagnostic agents. ([pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/2283483/))
