Small interfering RNA (siRNA) targeting TUBB2A is an experimental RNA interference (RNAi) therapeutic designed to silence the expression of the **Tubulin Beta 2A Class IIa (TUBB2A)** gene. TUBB2A is a member of the beta-tubulin family, which are critical structural components of microtubules involved in cell division, intracellular transport, and maintaining cell shape. Recent research has identified TUBB2A as a significant oncogenic driver and prognostic biomarker in **hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC)**, where its expression is linked to disrupted cholesterol metabolism and poor patient outcomes. The siRNA works by incorporating into the RNA-induced silencing complex (RISC), which then guides the sequence-specific cleavage and degradation of TUBB2A mRNA. This knockdown prevents the translation of the TUBB2A protein, thereby inhibiting tumor cell proliferation and potentially reversing metabolic signatures associated with hepatic oncogenesis.
