Overview

Small Molecule CXCR4 Nuclear Medicine Drug is a radiolabeled small molecule imaging agent developed by the National Atomic Research Institute (NARI). It specifically targets the C-X-C chemokine receptor type 4 (CXCR4), which is highly expressed on activated macrophages within atherosclerotic plaques. By binding to these receptors, the drug enables the non-invasive visualization of inflammatory lesions and vulnerable plaques in cardiovascular disease using nuclear medicine imaging techniques. Intended for intravenous administration, this agent was recognized as one of the top highlight technologies at the 2023 National Innovation Awards in Taiwan. It is currently in preclinical development for the imaging of atherosclerosis.
