Overview
The SMARTT e-Patch is an advanced electronic transdermal drug delivery platform developed by Rhenovia Pharma. It is designed as a programmable system capable of controlled, chronobiological administration of up to seven different medicinal products simultaneously. The technology integrates several innovations, including an ultra-slim battery, a flexible printed electronic circuit, and UV-LED ink that interacts with novel photolabile ligands within transdermal nanovectors to trigger drug release. This system allows physicians to program specific dosage schedules remotely, aiming to improve bioavailability and efficacy while minimizing side effects. Although initially developed for central nervous system disorders such as Alzheimer's disease, the platform is intended for a broad range of chronic conditions requiring complex medication regimens.
