Overview

SMP-100 is a novel small molecule drug that acts as a partial agonist of the serotonin receptor 3 (5-HT3). It has been developed as a potential therapy for irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), with additional investigation in conditions such as diarrhea, Evans syndrome, and serotonin syndrome. The drug is designed to offer improved safety and efficacy compared to existing therapies targeting the same pathway. SMP-100 is administered orally and has not yet received regulatory approval in any country.
