Overview
SMP-771 is an antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) being developed by Chengdu SciMount Pharmatech (also known as Xiling Lab) for the treatment of hematologic (liquid) tumors. The drug consists of a monoclonal antibody targeting CD38, a cell surface glycoprotein highly expressed in multiple myeloma and other hematologic malignancies, conjugated to an eribulin payload. Eribulin is a microtubule dynamics inhibitor that binds to the vinca alkaloid binding site on tubulin, leading to cell cycle arrest in the G2/M phase and subsequent apoptosis. By targeting CD38, SMP-771 aims to deliver the cytotoxic payload specifically to malignant cells while minimizing systemic toxicity. It is currently in the preclinical stage of development.
