Drug intelligence / Profile preview
SMT-M01 is an investigational AI-enabled cell replacement therapy being developed by Somite Therapeutics for Duchenne muscular dystrophy, designed to be mutation-agnostic and to restore muscle function by replacing lost or dysfunctional muscle precursor cells. The program leverages Somite’s AlphaStem AI platform to optimize production and differentiation of human cells for therapy, and has received FDA Orphan Drug Designation and Rare Pediatric Disease Designation for DMD.[2][3][1][5] Somite has partnered with OmniaBio for process development, iPSC-derived myogenic satellite cell differentiation, and manufacturing activities to advance SMT-M01 toward first-in-human studies.[7]
