Overview

SN-2000 is a selective allosteric inhibitor of phosphodiesterase 4B (PDE4B) being developed by Stream Neuroscience for the treatment of refractory epilepsy. By targeting the PDE4B enzyme, SN-2000 modulates intracellular cAMP signaling pathways to reduce neuronal excitability. Preclinical studies in various genetic and induced models of epilepsy, including zebrafish and mouse models of Dravet syndrome (Scn1a+/-), have demonstrated its efficacy in reducing seizure activity. Beyond its anti-seizure properties, SN-2000 has shown potential pro-cognitive and anxiolytic benefits in animal models, suggesting it may address common comorbidities of epilepsy without the debilitating side effects associated with many current anti-seizure medications.
