SN514-066b is a single, purified, thermostable protease enzyme derived from Anoxybacillus caldiproteolyticus and formulated as a ready-to-use hydrogel for enzymatic debridement of burn wounds. It is designed to selectively digest eschar proteins such as collagen, fibrin, and elastin while sparing healthy tissue. The enzyme demonstrates high thermal stability (peak activity at 70°C) and optimal activity in wound-relevant pH ranges (pH 7–8). Preclinical studies showed efficient eschar removal with minimal irritation in animal models. A first-in-human Phase 1 study confirmed low irritancy potential on intact skin across multiple concentrations. The product aims to address the need for effective, stable enzymatic debriders with favorable safety profiles for burn care[1][6].
