The SNA HPV therapeutic vaccine is a spherical nucleic acid (SNA)-based nanovaccine developed by Flashpoint Therapeutics in collaboration with Northwestern University. It is designed as a therapeutic intervention for established HPV-driven cancers, including cervical and head and neck cancers. The vaccine utilizes a structural nanomedicine approach, where a nanoscale lipid core is surrounded by a globular shell of immune-activating CpG DNA (adjuvant) and HPV16 E7-derived peptide antigens (specifically E7₁₁₋₁₉). This unique architecture ensures the co-delivery of antigen and adjuvant to the same immune cells, optimizing the activation of CD8+ 'killer' T cells to recognize and destroy tumor cells expressing the HPV E7 oncoprotein. Preclinical data published in 2026 demonstrated significant tumor growth inhibition and improved survival in humanized models.
