Overview
SNA01 is a recombinant, fully human IgG1κ monoclonal antibody designed for the prevention of respiratory syncytial virus (RSV)-associated lower respiratory tract infections in newborns, infants, and young children up to 24 months of age. Jointly developed by SINOVAC, the Institute of Biophysics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), and the Children's Hospital of Chongqing Medical University, SNA01 targets the RSV fusion (F) protein to neutralize the virus and provide passive immunity. The antibody features an engineered Fc region designed to extend its half-life, enabling protection throughout an entire RSV season with a single intramuscular injection. In October 2026, SNA01 received clinical trial clearance from China's National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) to initiate clinical development.
