Snai1 siRNA is a research-stage small interfering RNA (siRNA) designed to silence the expression of the SNAI1 gene, which encodes the Snail-1 transcription factor. Snail-1 is a critical regulator of the epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EMT) and endothelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EndMT), processes associated with cancer metastasis, fibrosis, and inflammation. In preclinical oncology models, Snai1 siRNA has been investigated for its ability to reduce tumor invasiveness and stemness in cancers such as ovarian, breast, and pancreatic carcinoma. More recently, it has been explored as a potential therapeutic for right ventricular failure secondary to pulmonary hypertension by inhibiting inflammatory pathways and fibrosis. It is primarily used as a laboratory research tool and is available through commercial reagent suppliers.
