Overview

SneezeEze is an intranasal powder spray formulation composed of inert hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC) used for the mechanical prevention of allergic rhinitis. Upon insufflation, the cellulose powder reacts with the moisture of the nasal mucosa to form a clear, mucoadhesive gel barrier. This physical layer effectively traps airborne allergens such as pollen, dust mites, and pet dander, preventing their contact with the nasal lining and subsequent activation of the inflammatory cascade. Because it is non-systemic and pharmacologically inert, it is frequently used as a drug-free alternative or adjunct therapy for hay fever and other respiratory allergies, particularly in populations where systemic antihistamines or corticosteroids may be contraindicated, such as in pediatric or pregnant patients.
