Overview

SNIPR001-IV is a CRISPR-based precision antimicrobial developed by SNIPR Biome, specifically an intravenous formulation of the SNIPR001 platform. It consists of a cocktail of bacteriophages engineered with CRISPR-Cas technology to selectively target and kill multidrug-resistant (MDR) Escherichia coli. The phages deliver CRISPR-Cas components into the bacteria, where they induce lethal double-stranded DNA breaks in the bacterial genome. This targeted approach is designed to treat systemic infections such as sepsis and kidney transplant-related infections, as well as uncomplicated urinary tract infections, while sparing the commensal microbiome. SNIPR001-IV is currently in the IND-enabling phase of development.
