Drug intelligence / Profile preview
SNK-003 is an engineered natural killer (NK) cell therapy being developed by NK Bio for the treatment of solid tumors, including sarcoma and melanoma. These engineered NK cells are specifically designed to overcome the immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment (TME). The cells are modified to resist immunosuppression and can reportedly utilize immunosuppressive factors as an energy source, allowing them to maintain cytotoxic activity at concentrations of immunosuppressive factors up to 10 times higher than those that would typically inhibit normal NK cells. Currently, SNK-003 is in preclinical development for melanoma and solid tumors, with plans for a physician-sponsored first-in-human trial in sarcoma.
