Drug intelligence / Profile preview
SnowClear One is a topical anti-dandruff shampoo containing 2% ketoconazole as its active pharmaceutical ingredient. Developed by MERAP Group and distributed by Dược phẩm Đông Á (Dong A Pharmaceuticals) in Vietnam, it is indicated for the treatment and prevention of dandruff, seborrheic dermatitis, and pityriasis caused by the yeast *Malassezia* (formerly *Pityrosporum*). Ketoconazole is a synthetic imidazole dioxolane derivative that exhibits potent antifungal activity by inhibiting the fungal enzyme lanosterol 14-alpha demethylase. This inhibition disrupts the synthesis of ergosterol, a critical component of fungal cell membranes, leading to increased membrane permeability and growth inhibition. SnowClear One is formulated for daily use and is distinguished from the standard SnowClear product by the absence of corticosteroids, making it suitable for regular scalp maintenance and cleansing.
