SNP-610 is a first-in-class small molecule drug under development by Sinew Pharma for the treatment of non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH), also known as metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH). The drug acts primarily by inhibiting diacylglycerol O-acyltransferase 1 (DGAT1), cytochrome P450 2E1 (CYP2E1), and hormone-sensitive lipase enzymes. Its mechanism involves impeding triglyceride synthesis and accumulation, reducing fatty acid absorption in liver cells, decreasing reactive oxygen species (ROS) production, and inhibiting pro-fibrotic and pro-inflammatory factors through immune cell regulation. It is administered orally as a tablet. As of June 2023, SNP-610 has reached Phase II clinical trials in both Taiwan and the USA for NASH/MASH.
