Overview

SNP201 is a high-affinity monoclonal antibody that targets and inhibits alpha-synuclein, a protein implicated in the pathogenesis of Parkinson's disease. The antibody preferentially binds to aggregated forms of alpha-synuclein, which are known to be pathogenic and are major components of Lewy bodies found in neurodegenerative diseases. By targeting these aggregates, SNP201 aims to clear misfolded proteins through immune therapy and potentially slow or halt neurodegeneration. The drug is being developed by SciNeuro Pharmaceuticals for the treatment of neurological diseases, with its lead indication being Parkinson's disease[1][2][3][4][6].
