SNP622 is an antisense oligonucleotide (ASO) therapeutic candidate developed by SciNeuro Pharmaceuticals for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease. It is designed to target Apolipoprotein E (ApoE), specifically the APOE4 isoform, which is recognized as the most significant genetic risk factor for the development of late-onset Alzheimer's. By binding to ApoE mRNA, SNP622 facilitates its degradation, thereby reducing the levels of the ApoE4 protein in the brain. This reduction is intended to decrease amyloid-beta aggregation and neurotoxicity, potentially slowing or halting disease progression. The program is currently in preclinical development.
