Overview

SNS-301 is a first-in-class, bacteriophage-based cancer immunotherapy designed to overcome immune tolerance and induce robust and durable antigen-specific humoral and cellular immune responses against human aspartate β-hydroxylase (ASPH), a tumor-associated antigen overexpressed in more than 20 types of cancer. The drug consists of a bio-engineered, inactivated bacteriophage lambda virus expressing a fragment of ASPH as a fusion protein with the phage capsid decoration protein gpD. It is administered intradermally and was developed for use in combination with checkpoint inhibitors such as pembrolizumab to treat patients with locally advanced unresectable or metastatic squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck (SCCHN) who did not respond to prior PD-1 blockade or were PD-1 blockade naïve. SNS-301 was originally developed by Panacea Pharmaceuticals and later by Sensei Biotherapeutics[1][3][4][5][6][7][8].
