Drug intelligence / Profile preview
SNUH-CD19-CAR-T Cells is an autologous, genetically modified CD19-targeted chimeric antigen receptor T-cell (CAR-T) therapy developed and manufactured by Seoul National University Hospital. The therapy is produced by harvesting a patient's own T cells and genetically modifying them using a lentiviral vector to express a chimeric antigen receptor that specifically targets CD19, a cell surface protein highly expressed on B cells. By targeting and eliminating CD19-positive B cells, SNUH-CD19-CAR-T cells aim to reduce pathogenic B-cell populations and associated autoimmune or neoplastic activity. The therapy is currently in clinical development for the treatment of pediatric patients with CD19-positive B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) who are candidates for hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, as well as children and young adults with severe, refractory childhood-onset systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE).
