So-Cheong-Ryong-Tang (SCRT) is a traditional East Asian herbal medicine composed of eight medicinal herbs: *Ephedra sinica*, *Glycyrrhiza uralensis*, *Schisandra chinensis*, *Asarum sieboldii*, *Pinellia ternata*, *Paeonia lactiflora*, *Cinnamomum cassia*, and *Zingiber officinale*. It is widely used in Korea, China, and Japan for the treatment of allergic and respiratory diseases, including asthma, allergic rhinitis, and atopic dermatitis. SCRT exerts its therapeutic effects through immunomodulatory and anti-inflammatory mechanisms, primarily by suppressing Th2-mediated immune responses. It inhibits the production of Th2 cytokines such as IL-4, IL-5, and IL-13, reduces serum IgE levels, and stabilizes mast cells to prevent histamine release. Additionally, it modulates the NF-κB signaling pathway and reduces the expression of pro-inflammatory mediators like TNF-α and COX-2.
