Overview

Socazolimab is a fully human monoclonal antibody that targets programmed death ligand 1 (PD-L1), functioning as an immune checkpoint inhibitor. By binding to PD-L1, socazolimab blocks its interaction with the programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1) receptor on T cells, thereby restoring T-cell activity and enabling the immune system to recognize and attack tumor cells. In addition to inhibiting the PD-L1/PD-1 pathway, socazolimab exerts anti-tumor effects through antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC), engaging natural killer cells via its intact IgG1 Fc region. Socazolimab was originally developed by Sorrento Therapeutics and is being further developed by Lee's Pharmaceutical for oncology indications including cervical cancer, small cell lung cancer, osteosarcoma, malignant melanoma, esophageal cancer, and urogenital cancers[3][5][6]. It has demonstrated efficacy in patients with varying levels of PD-L1 expression[4][6].
