Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Sodermix is a topical, steroid-free cream formulated for the treatment and prevention of hypertrophic and keloid scars. Its primary mechanism involves a patented vegetal (plant-derived) active ingredient rich in antioxidants, particularly superoxide dismutase (SOD) and catalase. These enzymes help neutralize free radicals in the skin, thereby reducing oxidative stress that contributes to abnormal scar formation. The microcapsule technology in Sodermix protects these active ingredients until they are released upon application to the skin. Clinically, Sodermix is used to reduce inflammation, redness, itching (pruritus), pain, and tension associated with both new and old scars. It can also be used after surgery or burns and for atopic dermatitis in children[1][2][5].
