Overview

Sodium adenosine nucleonate (Adenorine) is an immunostimulating agent being evaluated by the MIPO Clinic as an adjunctive mitochondrial immunotherapy for patients with metastatic colorectal cancer. It functions by activating the monocyte-macrophage system, enhancing cellular repair and regeneration, and reducing inflammatory symptoms. In clinical trials, it is used in combination with the FOLFOX chemotherapy regimen to improve treatment efficacy, enhance patient quality of life, and mitigate chemotherapy-induced toxicities, specifically by addressing neutrophil mitochondrial dysfunction. The drug is also known for its ability to stimulate lymphocyte activation and accelerate wound healing processes in other clinical contexts.
