Overview
Bicarbonato de Sódio 8,4% (sodium bicarbonate 8.4%) is an intravenous parenteral solution developed and manufactured by Halex Istar. It is indicated for the treatment of severe metabolic acidosis and its manifestations, non-specific poisoning, as an adjuvant in the treatment of diarrhea, and for the treatment and prophylaxis of uric acid renal calculi. As an alkalinizing agent, sodium bicarbonate dissociates to provide bicarbonate ions, which neutralize hydrogen ions in the blood and urine, thereby raising systemic and urinary pH to restore acid-base balance.
