Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Zeneo NaCl is a needle-free, pre-filled, single-use auto-injector system containing a 0.9% sodium chloride solution. Developed by the French specialty pharmaceutical company Crossject, the Zeneo platform is a needle-free delivery technology that utilizes a high-pressure gas propellant to deliver medications through the skin into the subcutaneous or intramuscular tissue in less than 100 milliseconds. The sodium chloride version of the device is primarily utilized for device performance validation in clinical trials, as a reference or placebo in bioequivalence studies, and as a functional training tool for patients and healthcare providers to practice the administration technique without the use of active pharmaceutical ingredients. The Zeneo platform is also being developed for a range of emergency rescue medications, including epinephrine for anaphylaxis and midazolam for status epilepticus.
