sodium cromoglicate

Sodium cromoglicate is a small molecule mast cell stabilizer developed and manufactured by Basic Pharma Manufacturing for the treatment of allergic conditions. It is formulated as a nasal spray for allergic rhinitis and as eye drops for allergic conjunctivitis. The drug acts by preventing the degranulation of sensitized mast cells, thereby inhibiting the release of histamine, leukotrienes, and other inflammatory mediators. This stabilization is thought to be mediated through the inhibition of calcium influx and potentially via agonism of the G protein-coupled receptor 35 (GPR35). As a prophylactic agent, it is most effective when used before exposure to allergens.
