Overview

Sodium deoxyribonucleic acid, also known as Sodium DNA or Sodium Deoxyribonucleotide, is a sodium salt of deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA), the fundamental molecule carrying genetic instructions for all living organisms. While not officially classified as a pharmaceutical drug, it is a substance with therapeutic potential explored in medicine, biotechnology, and cosmetics. Its mechanism of action involves promoting cellular repair and regeneration by serving as a substrate for the synthesis of new DNA and RNA, thereby accelerating cellular turnover. Additionally, it is believed to modulate immune responses, reduce inflammation, promote angiogenesis (the formation of new blood vessels), and exhibit antioxidant properties by scavenging free radicals. It has been studied for its potential in wound healing, tissue regeneration, anti-aging, skin rejuvenation, hair growth, and as an adjunct in cancer therapy. It is predominantly available as a dietary supplement or a cosmetic ingredient.
