**Sodium desoxyribonucleate** (also called sodium deoxyribonucleate) is a pharmaceutical immunomodulator and tissue regenerant, often marketed under the brand name Derinat. It consists of low molecular weight native fragments of deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) as sodium salts. Mechanistically, sodium desoxyribonucleate acts primarily as an immunomodulator—stimulating B cells, activating helper T cells (Th cells), and promoting increased secretory IgA (sIgA) levels. It demonstrates regenerative (tissue reparative) properties, enhances anti-infectious protection by boosting local and systemic immunity, and normalizes hematopoiesis (formation of blood cellular elements). Sodium desoxyribonucleate also functions as a powerful antioxidant and is being studied for its ability to protect against ischemic damage and accelerate hematopoietic recovery after radiation or polytrauma. It is primarily indicated for prevention and treatment of acute respiratory infections, severe associated injury (polytrauma), and has investigational use in improving outcomes following stem cell transplantation and in conditions such as chronic hepatitis, leukopenia, thrombocytopenia, and aplastic anemia[1][2][3][5][6][7].
