Overview

This is a combination drug consisting of **sodium fluoride**, a widely used anticaries agent, and **hops extract** derived from Humulus lupulus. Sodium fluoride facilitates the remineralization of tooth enamel by incorporating fluoride ions into the hydroxyapatite structure to form fluorapatite, making enamel more resistant to acid demineralization and bacterial action. Hops extract contains a variety of bioactive phytochemicals, including prenylated flavonoids (such as xanthohumol, 8-prenylnaringenin), alpha acids (such as humulone), and beta acids (such as lupulone), which demonstrate antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and potential anticaries properties. Hops extract has also been investigated for its ability to inhibit oral bacteria and reduce caries, white spots, gingivitis, and inflammation in oral tissues. The combination may be formulated in oral care products such as toothpaste or mouthwash, primarily aimed at preventing dental caries, gingivitis, and oral biofilm-associated diseases[2][1].
