Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Sodium hyaluronate 0.15% is an ophthalmic solution primarily used as an artificial tear for treating dry eye conditions and promoting corneal healing. It is a viscoelastic polymer that helps stabilize the tear film, lubricate the ocular surface, and maintain hydration. It has been investigated for its efficacy in various ocular conditions, including dry eyes associated with diabetic retinopathy, ocular surface disease following cataract surgery, and corneal epithelial healing after corneal cross-linking for keratoconus. It is also used as part of topical treatments for conditions like ocular mucous membrane pemphigoid.
