Drug intelligence / Profile preview
HA 0.3% (HUC3-053) is a low-viscosity 0.3% sodium hyaluronate (hyaluronic acid) ophthalmic solution developed by Huons for the treatment of dry eye syndrome (dry eye disease). Formulated using patented rheological technology, it employs hyaluronic acid polymers with precisely controlled molecular weight and reduced intrinsic viscosity. This design minimizes intermolecular chain entanglement at high concentrations, enhancing ocular tolerability and visual comfort (such as reducing post-instillation blurred vision) while maintaining therapeutic efficacy comparable to existing high-concentration hyaluronic acid formulations. In South Korea, it is marketed under the brand names Kynex 3 and Kainix 3. Huons completed a Phase 3 clinical trial (NCT06388070) comparing HUC3-053 to Hyalein Mini Eye Drops (an existing 0.3% sodium hyaluronate formulation) in patients with dry eye syndrome, demonstrating non-inferiority in corneal fluorescein staining score improvement.
