**Sodium lactate + calcium chloride + potassium chloride + sodium chloride + dextrose** is a fixed-composition intravenous crystalloid solution marketed as Lactated Ringer's and Dextrose (5%) Injection. It combines sodium, potassium, calcium, chloride, lactate, and 5% dextrose to replace extracellular water and electrolytes while providing limited carbohydrate calories. Lactate is metabolized to bicarbonate equivalents and can support alkalinization; the solution has no single pharmacologic receptor target. It is used intravenously in adult and pediatric patients as a source of water, electrolytes, and calories, and as an alkalinizing agent. The labeled formulation contains dextrose 5 g, sodium chloride 600 mg, sodium lactate 310 mg, potassium chloride 30 mg, and calcium chloride 20 mg per 100 mL, and is hypertonic.
