Drug intelligence / Profile preview
원프렙산 (OnePrep 1.38 powder) is an approved oral bowel preparation agent developed by Gunkang Pharmaceuticals and co-marketed with GC Wellbeing. It is classified as an "improved new drug" (개량신약) in South Korea, specifically designed to reduce the total volume of liquid patients must consume before a colonoscopy to 1.38 liters (including the reconstituted drug and additional water). The formulation is a combination of sodium picosulfate, a stimulant laxative that is activated by colonic bacteria; magnesium oxide and citric acid, which react in water to form osmotic magnesium citrate; and ascorbic acid (Vitamin C), which provides additional osmotic activity and improves the safety profile. This combination effectively cleanses the colon while minimizing patient discomfort associated with high-volume preparations.
