SOF-SKN

SOF-SKN is a first-in-class oligonucleotide drug developed by Noxopharm for the treatment of autoimmune diseases, with an initial focus on cutaneous lupus erythematosus (CLE). It contains a proprietary ultra-short oligonucleotide that acts as an antagonist to Toll-like receptor 7 and Toll-like receptor 8 (TLR7/8), which are implicated in the overactivation of immune responses in autoimmune conditions. By blocking these receptors, SOF-SKN aims to reduce inflammation at its source rather than merely managing symptoms. The drug is being advanced through the HERACLES clinical trial program, which will assess its safety and dose-finding in healthy volunteers before moving into patient populations. The broader Sofra platform may enable expansion into other autoimmune indications such as rheumatoid arthritis.
