Drug intelligence / Profile preview
SOF-VAC is an investigational drug developed as a vaccine enhancer for mRNA vaccines, based on Noxopharm's Sofra technology platform. It consists of very short synthetic DNA/RNA fragments (three bases in length) designed to modulate inflammation by blocking specific inflammation receptors, particularly Toll-like receptor 7 (TLR7), which are implicated in the excessive inflammatory responses sometimes triggered by mRNA vaccines. By inhibiting these receptors, SOF-VAC reduces reactogenicity and adverse inflammatory side effects associated with mRNA vaccination while maintaining vaccine efficacy. The technology is fully compatible with existing mRNA vaccine delivery platforms and has demonstrated significant reduction of inflammation in preclinical animal models[1][2][3][4][5].
