Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Softmega (also marketed as Softmega Forte) is a nutritional supplement and nutraceutical developed by Biokindle Lifesciences Pvt Ltd. It contains omega-3 marine triglycerides, specifically eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), derived from marine sources and formulated as oral softgel capsules. The product is indicated as an adjunct to diet to reduce plasma triglyceride levels in patients with hypertriglyceridemia and for the management of cardiovascular and renal conditions. Its mechanism of action involves providing essential omega-3 fatty acids that modulate lipid metabolism to lower triglycerides and exert anti-inflammatory effects. In nephrology, Softmega is used to support kidney function, reduce the prevalence of chronic kidney disease (CKD), and potentially slow the progression of IgA nephropathy.
