Drug intelligence / Profile preview
SoftOx Wound Irrigation Solution is a topical antimicrobial wound rinse developed for the cleansing and prevention of infection in acute wounds. It is based on a unique, chemically stable formula with broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity against bacteria (including those in biofilms), fungi, and viruses. The solution penetrates the wound bed and biofilm to eradicate microbes without inducing microbial resistance or cross-resistance to antibiotics. Clinical studies have demonstrated significant improvements in wound healing and reduction of bacterial burden compared to standard treatments like saline. The product is well tolerated, does not dry out skin or cause irritation, and has shown no serious adverse events in clinical use. Developed by SoftOx Solutions AS—a Norwegian medtech company—the solution aims to address unmet needs in both acute and chronic wound care by providing an effective alternative for infection control[1][2][5][6][7].
