Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Sofusa anti-PD-1 is an investigational drug-device combination developed by Sorrento Therapeutics that delivers an anti-PD-1 monoclonal antibody (STI-A1110) via the proprietary Sofusa lymphatic delivery platform. The Sofusa technology utilizes a nano-structured microneedle array designed to access the lymphatic capillaries located just beneath the epidermis. By delivering the checkpoint inhibitor directly into the lymphatic system, the therapy aims to maximize drug exposure in the lymph nodes—the primary site of immune cell activation—while reducing systemic levels and associated toxicities. This localized delivery approach is intended to improve the safety and efficacy profile of PD-1 blockade in treating cancers such as cutaneous T-cell lymphoma (CTCL) and metastatic melanoma.
