Drug intelligence / Profile preview
SOL-175 is an investigational gene therapy developed by Sola Biosciences targeting Huntington's disease. It utilizes JUMP70 technology to specifically manipulate the protein folding process of mutant huntingtin (HTT) proteins, which are characterized by expanded polyglutamine (polyQ) stretches, without affecting non-mutated HTT proteins. This targeted approach aims to modify the underlying disease process in Huntington's disease by reducing or correcting the toxic effects of mutant HTT aggregation[2][4]. The drug is currently in preclinical development and represents a novel strategy for potentially modifying the course of this neurodegenerative disorder.
