Overview

SOL-368 is a preclinical therapeutic candidate developed by SOLA Biosciences for the treatment of Parkinson's disease. It utilizes the company's proprietary JUMP70 (Joint-Uptake-Mediated-Protein-repair) platform, which is designed to enhance the cell's natural protein quality control mechanisms. The drug is a bifunctional molecule—potentially delivered as a recombinant protein or via gene therapy—consisting of a disease-specific targeting domain that binds to misfolded alpha-synuclein and a conserved protein quality control activation domain that recruits Heat Shock Protein 70 (HSP70). By recruiting HSP70 activity directly to the misfolded proteins, SOL-368 promotes the refolding or degradation of toxic alpha-synuclein aggregates, thereby addressing the underlying proteotoxicity and protein aggregation characteristic of Parkinson's disease.
