Solfenurin

Solfenurin is an oral small molecule medication developed and manufactured by Gypto Pharma, an Egyptian pharmaceutical company based in Al Obour City. It contains 10 mg of solifenacin succinate and is formulated as a film-coated tablet. Solfenurin acts as a competitive muscarinic receptor antagonist, with a high affinity for the M3 receptor subtype found in the bladder detrusor muscle. By inhibiting the binding of acetylcholine to these receptors, it reduces smooth muscle contractions, thereby increasing bladder capacity and decreasing the symptoms of overactive bladder (OAB), such as urinary urgency, frequency, and urge incontinence. Although some context mistakenly associates this drug with gallstone dissolution (an indication for Ursodeoxycholic acid), Solfenurin is clinically used for urological disorders.
