Soline

Soline is a name associated with two distinct therapeutic entities identified in clinical and scientific literature. The first, referred to as Fer-01 (Soline®), is an herbal combination product containing extracts of *Salvia divinorum*, *Lycium*, *Chenpi* (*Citrus reticulata*), and *Dihuang* (*Rehmannia glutinosa*). It has been investigated for its antidepressant properties, primarily due to the presence of salvinorin A, a potent and selective kappa-opioid receptor (KOR) agonist found in *Salvia divinorum*. Unlike typical antidepressants that target serotonin or norepinephrine pathways, this formulation modulates mood through opioid signaling. The second entity is a trademarked ingredient composed of sunflower seed oil unsaponifiables (Helianthus annuus), commonly used in dermatological and cosmetic products. This version of Soline exerts anti-inflammatory and skin-barrier-repair effects by activating the peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor alpha (PPAR-alpha), inhibiting the secretion of pro-inflammatory cytokines such as IL-6, TNF-α, IL-17A, and IL-23, and modulating the TGFβ-related signaling pathway. In preclinical models, it has demonstrated potential for alleviating psoriasis-like skin symptoms and keratinocyte hyperproliferation.
