Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Soliprin is a patented and proprietary botanical blend cosmeceutical ingredient developed by Unigen, Inc. for cosmetic and personal care applications. It is composed of two plant extracts identified through a high-throughput screening of over 1,200 botanicals for their ability to mitigate ultraviolet (UV) damage and neutralize environmental toxins. Soliprin functions as a broad-spectrum anti-inflammatory and potent antioxidant, boasting an Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity (ORAC) value exceeding 102,000. Its biological activity is characterized by the modulation of prostaglandin and leukotriene pathways and the down-regulation of cytokine gene expression. Clinically, Soliprin has been shown to reduce UV-induced erythema and increase the Minimum Erythema Dosage (MED) in human subjects. It is typically incorporated into topical skin care formulations at concentrations of 0.5% to 1.5% to combat oxidative stress and support healthy skin aging.
