solizmestrocel is an allogeneic human umbilical cord–derived mesenchymal stromal cell therapy being developed as a regenerative and immunomodulatory treatment for chronic inflammatory and degenerative diseases, including Crohn disease, ischemic stroke, diabetic nephropathy, and osteoarthritis.[1][5][6][9] As a living cell product, it exerts effects through paracrine secretion of anti‑inflammatory and pro‑regenerative factors, immune cell modulation, and support of tissue repair rather than via a single defined molecular target.[1][5][9] The active substance, designated solizmestrocel as its proposed International Nonproprietary Name (INN), consists of expanded umbilical cord–derived mesenchymal stromal cells manufactured as an allogeneic cell replacement therapy product.[1][9]
